05:00 am - Hiatus
Am I on? *taps mic*

Ok. Hello everyone. As you can see by the image and Rae’s poor sad expression, Forsaken Doctrine is regrettably going on hiatus. Many of you are probably furious, angry that you wasted two seconds of your life to wander over and read this no where little comic. Sadly, I’m with you guys too.

Forsaken Doctrine was my first step into the comic realm and through it only has a total of six pages so far, I’ve learned a great deal about the process. In light of the many things I’ve learned it’s come to the creator’s attention that the best thing they can do for the comic is go back to the locker room and come up with a better game plan. Creepy, I know. Especially since I’m a girl and the co creator is a boy, but we’ll manage…

The other reason we are breaking is because of unforeseen personal problems. Life has thrown a few of those damned curveballs and we must deal with them before continuing.

So for at least two weeks we are going back to the drawing board. You may check the site for details as they arise. This will also give us a chance to *gasp* have a buffer just in case something like this happens again. Imagine that.

Can’t wait for more art you say? Well then… Visit Forsaken Doctrine’s sister site and check out my new comic. Gathering what I learned on how NOT to start a web comic I decided to create a pet project of sorts… Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE zombies and it was only natural that I started a web comic in honor of those flesh-eating beasts. Eztica: Blood Chronicles is a slightly new take on the genre and launches soon.

Keep checking with the site for updates, we’ll return to regular updates by June!

(May 6th, 2008) New Page, Crappy voting incentive

Well finally dammit. I'm sure someone out there has been waiting for the new page. Unfortunately this past month has been so hectic. School threw me a few curve balls as far as work and while I was happy to finally stop being a dead beat I will say that my comic has taken a toll! That and then GTA came out on Friday... Shiny things!

But the comic...The writer and me... (Or is it the writer and I? Or I and the writer? Obviously this is why I'm not the writer.) have been discussing going on hiatus. Do I want to? No... But my lack of effort has put him in a position where he must decide what's best for himself and the comic. Honestly the big month long absence has been related to school, but a lot of the projects I was working on have been finished or are close to being finished so regular updates may commence. We'll discuss the matter and get back to you at the end of the week.

Right now I'm going to enjoy my screwdriver and pass out... Voting incentive is a quick sketch of my version of Jessica Rabbit. Hawt.

12:01 pm - (April 18th, 2008) New Site Layout and Voting Incentive
Obviously if you've visited the site before you'll notice the new graphics. It wasn't so much the fact that I was bored, I really just hated the hideous green... It was way too bright and although this comic has it's funny and lighthearted moments, I didn't feel that it really captured how I originally envisioned the site. Plus this is just easier to look at...

So the last time I updated was the first of April and I know all of you are wondering where the hell the new page is... Well it’ll come soon enough. I started going back to school full time and much to my chagrin it turns out that 15 credits do eat up a LOT of your time. That and I sort of started hating the comic look… It’s very frustrating when you start drawing and you think “Boy… I could have done this so much better…”

But if I continued trying to revise everything we’d never have an update! So for now… We get a new voting incentive (because lets face it… I’m a salve to the votes people). I thought that a fun thing to do to get some buzz going about the comic would be to start a little contest and have people post what kind of voting incentives they would like to see in the cbox! So starting today, if you’d like to get a CAMEO in my web comic, I’m holding a little contest. Later today I’ll post the details in the forum.

So I do want to apologize to all the fans (if we have any?) and to my dear co writer who constantly puts up with my antics and is not deterred when something shiny distracts me.

09:38 pm - Old Navy
I have to share this with people... Because it's possibly the most hilarious rant I've heard in the longest. Usually when I do a comic page I like to have someone talking to me, or even having the TV on just for company. Usually Cameron will talk while I finish coloring a page. Today he shared with me his feelings about Old Navy. Slightly NSFW.

Today was drama and shopping, which is why I am currently hiding in my room.  Three sisters in one house on one cycle... is a scary thing at times and I found out that Old Navy has been ruined. They were losing money, so they made it more like The Gap and Banana Republic... American Eagle and shit.
I really despise those stores.

They had pink and yellow button up shirts, polo shirts with the special collar that can stay popped, jeans that look like they were cut for women, and these disgusting  pastel, plad short things...Not to mention, the crappy music and over sized posters of half dressed male models.Like I want to see that shit? Really... What self-respecting guy would shop in places like that?

There was a time when they had plain jeans and plain comfy t-shirts.
But they fucked it up.

Now it's some gay/emo/bro pathetic, souless, faceless, cookie-cutter dick store for folks who are so insecure they completely give up their individuality to blend in with a whole bunch of other souless fuck-tards.
Why don't they all go off and circle jerk to Halo on their way to hell?!

05:48 am - Corn Muffins
I made them tonight.

Anywho! Updates... Page one! And with this begins the introduction of a set update schedule (which will be Mondays!) Yay! Today I'm thinking of finishing page two but ya know... I'm lazy.

The comic is getting a little following on DrunkDuck. Which is good because it appears that no one is visiting the site. I'm thinking of joining Buzz Comics and setting up voting incentives, those always seem popular. Alright... going to finish eating....

09:19 pm - Finally.
Howdy!

I'm Cameron and I'm the writer.  Enjoying a healthy amount of irony, I'm not much for words, so I'll keep this fairly short.  The story is coming along nicely and things are getting pretty exciting.  I even have an avatar that isn't a woman so I can post.  Madison is great to work with, when she cooperates, and we have some big things planned.  Keep checking up on us, because we'll get this party started soon enough.

Have a nice day

08:49 pm - Site Launch
*passes out*

Oh god. I. Am. Tired. This was an ordeal and a half. Learning dreamweaver AND designing your site at the same time is like... Torture. But it's finally up. The original site design was rather girly and Cameron felt as if I castrated him and nailed his balls to the wall. Sorry Cameron... The site is now gender friendly for both sexes and, in my opinion, much better as a design.

So now I'm going to have to figure out how to do the archives... But I'm sure I'll figure it out. Eventually. In private news I'm leaving for Florida this Sunday. I'm going to see my mother. I haven't seen her in almost four years... Now she has cirrhosis, spends her days collecting disability and buying things from QVC. Although "touched" I'm sure that I'll be able to have something of a normal conversation... Hopefully. Maybe. Cameron may take up updating the live journal.

Thanks!

06:45 pm - Quick Update
Rydia got back to me and I made the first payment! So hopefully it won't be too much longer before they contact me with my account. The website is *almost* done. It's very basic... so I may redo it in the future. But eh... I'm lazy.

11:19 am - Patience….
I have none. I’m going with Rydia for my host and they are taking much too long to get back to me. I want to launch things now! Having a domain name will make everything that much more real to me… That much closer to world domination! I suppose this way is better… I’ll have time to finish the cover and the website. So the website launch will probably be next week sometime because apparently Rydia only accepts paypal… so now I have to wait for funds to be deposited into my paypal account.

GAWD!!! This is torture.

02:49 pm - The First Entry
Well! Let me say that I am absolutely thrilled to finally get the beginnings of the comic underway. It has been extremely long and arduous process - years actually - in the making. For a VERY long time I’ve been interested in having something to call my own, even through many failed attempts.  I doubted my artistic ability, I doubted my aptitude to tell a proper story… I really wasn’t sure where to start.

But long are the days of self-doubt (and no bank card to buy web space with)! With the help of my partner in crime we’ve finally gotten through the long days of agonizing over names… identities… story lines… everything…. We were nearly torn apart in the process! But after all was said and done., after the weapons were put away, we were able to finalize details and give birth to the beginning of what will hopefully be a very long and lucrative comic.

So without further ado let me introduce myself and my partner!

I’m Madison! I am the artist and co-writer. While I’m finally comfortable with my ability as an artist I wasn’t certain I could write a story that would engage the reader. Luckily, I’m blessed with having writer as a friend and when I proposed the idea of a comic he quickly jumped on!

Cameron is the main writer and the brains behind the operation. He scripts all the scenes and while I have input into the project, he is usually the one that comes up with everything that has to do with the story line, the character personas, and the general direction of the comic.

Alright, enough with the boring stuff. I’m sure you’re wondering when everything will take off! Well… Currently I’m finishing the cover and the website for the comic. I’ll be buying the web space tomorrow or the day after… (I have to deposit a check today).

The first page will probably take a week after that. I should mention that while neither of the creators are in this for funds, after a few pages are up… I will be putting up a donation link. <<; Not required of course but drawing takes a LOT of time. Especially the work I put into the pages. If I can do this as a full time job while in college, GREAT! But most likely I will be using my own pocket change to put up this site.

We also go to school full time and of course, things are bound to happen. The update schedule will usually go one page a week but in the event that something happens… We will at least try to let you guys know! You can either check the site or look on here. Either Cameron or myself will post as often as possible with insights into the comic, our daily lives, or just randomness.

Anyway! Thanks for your support and we look forward to hearing all of your thoughts about the comic in the future!
